Hey Lou, can you enable yourself to receive messages on this forum?
I wanted to send you a PM about GKTW.

Sounds like maybe your DA brought this back from Congress? Otherwise, not sure why that would be stated without a local law change.

Did anyone ask the DA why?

Even 14 year olds are legally allowed "to work" (be employed/get paid) in most states and this isn't even "working", it's volunteering.

That said, we limit concession stand volunteers to 14 and up.
We get Volunteer Applications, do the required background check and we get signed parent/guardian approvals for everyone under 16.

Most of our youth concession workers are high school kids that need Volunteer Hours to qualify for State sponsored College Grants/Scholarships.

As for volunteer ages, I know that "Give Kids The World" (gktw.com) in Kissimmee takes volunteers starting at age 12.
My oldest grandson is going to start volunteering there this summer when he turns 12. It's an amazing place.

District just told us last night no one under 16 can be in there.

Is this a new rule?

In years past at District hosted tournaments there has been many majors age players working their tournaments.

Our snack bar is run by a guy who is always inside supervising the kids. I can understand no hot foods or even dealing with money. But a complete ban?

If it’s not a LL rule or state law I feel we should keep doing it the way we always have that has been problem free for decades.
