Folklore has it that many years ago a gentleman roamed the halls of a famous institution known as “The Hill”. The legend goes on to tell us about that fateful July evening as he was dutifully performing his cleaning tasks and a phone rang from a Little League field a thousand miles away.
After several rings the man placed down his mop and picked up the phone. An All Star game had been halted with a rules question and an immediate interpretation was needed before the game could resume. Now mind you, this was no ordinary maintenance man. As a faithful Little League employee he had spent 30 plus years chatting with the folks about their one common bond, Little League Baseball. In fact one might say that he was the most knowledgeable resource in the world. Relying on his 30 year wealth of knowledge the sage rattled off the interpretation of the rules, he was thanked and the game continued.
In the years that followed the phone continued to ring and The Janitor always answered. He eventually retired, but like many leaguers he never quite went away. To this day there are numerous reports of protest calls being answered and resolved that never make it into the log book.
It is with the spirit of The Janitor that this forum was created. With the primary mission being a discussion forum that serves as a resource for parents, coaches, league administrators and volunteer umpires. This forum is monitored by a group of extremely knowledgeable folks that have dedicated thousands of hours of their life to the greatest youth sports organization in the world Little League Baseball, and they are glad to answer any questions to the best of their ability.
This forum is in no way directly affiliated or associated with Little League Baseball. This is an independent forum and all of the opinions and interpretations posted are the sole opinions of the contributors.
