I wonder if they are planning to open 2 more regional centers, or operate the new regions out of existing ones. I know the west and northwest are combined out of San Bernardino. Will they get the Mountain, too?

I would imagine the two new Regions would double-up with two existing Regions. I don't think the West would end up with three Regionals but who knows.

By the way, the LL Softball World Series is also adding four more teams.

Unless the Metro Region is going to travel to Georgia, and the Mountain Region travels to Texas, they are going to have to triple up on the regions, or open up 2 new Regional centers.

The East, Central, and West Regions already double up on tournaments. Where else are the new Regions to go?

It's still the same number of teams since the regions are just split up into smaller groups.

While I'm sure someone hates it, it does give states fewer teams to go through.

I don't mind the idea of it, but I'm confused around how the split changes the number of leagues per region to create more opportunity.

Seems like West and Southwest stay stacked.  The Mountain and Northwest regions are super light.

West total population is about 48M.  California more than half.

Southwest total population is about 47M.  Texas more than half.

Mountain total population is about 8M.

Northwest total population is about 14M.  Washington about half the population.

If I had 'druthers' I'd have gone to 16 teams instead of 10 and split up West and Southwest into smaller regions.  Aim for 25M/region max.

Can't please everyone though.
