Game suspended due to rain last Friday, resumes tonight.

At the start of the game last Friday the Visitors team had only 9 on the roster (2 away on vacation, 1 ill), the Home team had all 12 players on the affidavit present.

Tonight the Visitor team could have a full roster as both are back from vacation and the third is no longer sick and the Home team has the opposite.  They have 3 missing tonight who were present last Friday.

Can the Visitors add the three kids to their roster?   If they do, are they subject to MPR?  and if so, they can elect not to add them, right?

Can the Home team resume the game with the three missing kids?

One of the now missing kids did not get MPR on Friday, he played the first two innings but didn't get his AB.   Does that matter if he misses the remainder of the game?

They are late arrivals at the game.

If they are on the affidavit they are eligible to play. There is no such thing as a "game roster".

If they get entered they have to meet MPR. Requirement is based on the number present at the start of the game, not when they arrive late.

They do not have to play.

I'd speculate that the absent player is not an MPR issue but WP does strange things at times.

Rich is correct, the players that were not at the first part of the game but are there when the game is resumed are late arriving players.
It is up to the Manager whether they get entered into the game or not. If they are entered they need to meet MPR.

As for the player who played two innings on defense but did not get an at-bat but is not present when the game is resumed, I would not call that an MPR violation. To me, it's the same as the player getting injured, ill or mom/dad taking the kid home.
IF Williamsport is called and the circumstances are explained they could (should) Waive the MPR requirement or Waive the Manager suspension (not the manager's fault the player isn't at the resumed game).
That said, you never know what ruling the Janitor might make!

I was surprised nobody reminded him that the pitcher at the time of the rain out had pitched over 40 pitches was not eligible to pitch in the resumed game and if he had pitched 38 pitches, and was allowed to pitch in the resumed game his next pitch would be 39, then 40, 41 etc. his pitch count would not start at zero.
